WADEI H. POWELL – PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
Wadei is a the Principal Consultant at UFOUND Solutions Group and a seasoned business executive with a highly successful track record and more than 15 years progressive experience in all phases of Organizational Development. She has a strong background in SWOT analysis, IS and HR systems development and implementation, project management, business analysis, business process re-engineering, strategic planning, contract negotiation, and Liberian Labor Laws and practices and has excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
From May 2012 to May 2015, she served as the Vice President for Administration & HR at Cellcom Telecommunications, Inc. where she had primary responsibility for all administrative and human resource matters. At Cellcom, she engaged in the overall restructure of the company’s Administrative and HR Departments, policies, procedures and guidelines. Prior to this position, she served as the General Services Manager of Firestone Liberia, Inc. from March 2009 to May 2012 and Inventory Control Manager from June 2006, when she joined the Company, to May 2009. At Firestone, she had direct oversight of Government Relations, Concession Agreement Compliance, Inventory Control, Education, Information Technology/Payroll, Medical Administration, and Corporate Legal affairs. Her specific responsibilities included developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with Government officials and stakeholders in the Liberian rubber sector, serving as primary interface with Government Ministries, Public Corporations, Autonomous Agencies, and Professional Associations, and handling administrative and implementation matters related to Firestone Liberia Concession Agreement. From December 2005 to May 2006, she served as Manager of Information Systems at the Central Bank of Liberia where she had direct oversight of developing and implementing the CBL MIS work plan and long term objectives and was a part of the team that developed and implemented the Bill Payment System (BPS) currently used by the Government of Liberia for revenue receipts. She served as the 2nd Vice President of the Liberia Chamber of Commerce from 2012-2013, was a member of the Corporate Responsibility Forum (2010-13) and served on the Board of the National Port Authority of Liberia (2010-11) representing Firestone. Prior to moving back home to Liberia in 2005, she worked with several Industry Associations and Fortune 500 Companies in the United States, the last being Mellon Financial, where she served as a Business Process Manager working in the areas of Financial, Operational, Organizational and Functional process development and management.
She attained a diploma from the St. Teresa’s Convent School in Monrovia in 1989. From there she moved to the United States, where she earned a B.A. degree in English from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1996 and a M.Sc. degree in Information Technology Systems Management, with an emphasis in Organizational Development, from Capitol College in Laurel, MD in 2003.
Elenda is a professional with a wealth of experience in the Human Resources field spanning over a period of two decades. Over the last fourteen years, her professional experience included human resources design and management, contract negotiations, budget planning and inventory control management. Her early passion and experience began in the 1990’s with Unique Nurses Incorporated where she managed all aspects of Human Resources for an $8 million home care agency overseeing employees and serving clients throughout the Washington, DC area. In January 2007 she began international consultancy work with a Human Resource Consulting position with the Enterprise Resource Group (ERG) in Monrovia, Liberia, in which she provided technical HR expertise and capacity development support to the Civil Service Agency (CSA) Senior Executive Service (SES) project. Subsequently she also worked as a HR consultant with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) / CSA-SES project in Liberia, working collaboratively with the Director-General of the CSA to implement the SES Program.
In 2008 Elenda served as the HR Specialist on an ERG assignment with the Guyanese Revenue Authority in Georgetown, Guyana, where she provided technical expertise in designing position/job descriptions for the 19 divisions of the Revenue Authority as well as documentation of performance based appraisal reports and grade, an initiative based on the Millennium Challenge Corporation approved Threshold Program to the Government of Guyana.
In 2009, she served as a Human Resource consultant with the UNDP, working with the CSA, Ministry of Finance and other government institutions to recruit Master level students into the Financial Training Program. Also in 2009 she worked with the World Bank as a Human Resource Consultant where she was responsible for providing technical assistance on the Grading and Classification of positions for Civil Servant for the Government of Liberia through the Civil Service Reform Program.
In 2011 she accepted the position of Inventory Control Manager at Firestone Liberia where she remained until August 2013. In this role, she was primarily responsible for managing inventory control and central receiving departments with stocked inventory of over 30,000 items.
Elenda earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Care Administration from University of Maryland Baltimore County and Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University, Clinton, Iowa.
She was born in Liberia, West Africa and grew up in Connecticut and Maryland USA. She currently resides in Waxhaw, North Carolina, USA with her husband and two children.
